Staff Spotlight: Clare
This month we’re excited to introduce you to our new team member, Clare. Some of our lovely customers will have already met Clare over the phone or via email.
Clare is the wonderful person who picks, packs and dispatches your honey orders. Alongside this, she helps with packing honey, labeling jars and keeping stock levels up to date. She also prepares the market vehicle, ready for the Nelson Saturday Market.
Clare ran our stall at the market for the first time a few weeks ago. She really enjoyed the vibrant buzz and meeting some of our lovely customers. We asked Clare to answer a few questions about herself.
What’s the best part of your role at MVH?
The small hard-working team and the variation in my role. No two days are the same.
What is your favourite MVH honey?
Kanuka is my favourite, and I’m looking forward to hopefully trying some Rata this season.
What’s it like working around bees? Have you had much experience working with/around bees before?
No previous bee experience other than the odd sting! I don’t really spend too much time around the bees as I’m in dispatch but I’m sure I’ll learn to love them being around. On a nice day it’s hard to miss them and if the doors are open it’s an open invitation!
What do you like to do in your spare time (hobbies/interests)?
I spend a lot of time running my three teenagers around to various sports and activities. I love a day at the beach, a good dog walk, catching up with friends or a quiet day in the garden.
What 3 items would you take to a deserted island and why?
A supply of good wine, a good book and my ever-faithful Chocolate lab, Walter to keep me company.
Mountain Valley Honey believes “It’s the little things that count”… what “little things” do you care about?
The little things definitely do make a difference, whether it’s a long meaningful hug from a friend or loved one, a refreshing walk on the beach on a blustery day, fresh sheets, my favourite flowers or the taste and smell of good coffee… the simple pleasures in life!
