Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp. MVH Kānuka honey
- A flannel, mitt, or muslin cloth
- A headband
- Your regular moisturiser or cream
- Optional: A drop of rosehip oil
- Optional: Almond oil or a gentle everyday oil
Method:
- Place a headband over your hairline to keep hair out of your face.
- Gently warm 2 Tbsp. MVH Kānuka Honey in a heatproof container set in a water bath until it becomes fluid and easy to spread.
- Optional: Add a drop of rosehip oil to the honey and stir until combined. This oil has anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce redness.
- Optional: Pour ½ tsp. of almond oil (or an everyday oil) into your palm and warm it by rubbing your hands together. Massage the oil onto your dry face in circular motions to dissolve makeup, dirt, and excess oil.
- Using warm water, cleanse your face to remove any makeup, impurities, or excess oil from your face.
- Evenly apply the warmed kanuka honey to your face using your fingers, avoiding the eye area. Allow the mask to sit on your skin for about 20 minutes.
- Soak a cloth (flannel, mitt, or muslin) in hot water and wring it out to ensure it is warm and damp, but not excessively wet.
- Gently wipe off the honey mask, starting from the nose and moving outwards. The heat from the cloth will help dissolve the honey.
- After removing the mask, rinse your face with warm water to eliminate any remaining residues. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.
- Finish your routine by applying your usual moisturiser to soothe and hydrate your skin.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure the honey is not too hot to avoid burns.
- Test the oils on a small patch of skin first to check for any allergic reactions.
