Rātā Honey is a sweet smooth honey, bringing a light colour and texture.

This mellow honey is a hidden treasure, just like the brilliant red blossoms of the endangered Rātā tree.

A reminder of summer all year round.

Taste

Rātā honey works beautifully with complex flavours, pairing particularly well with goat’s cheese and chicken dishes. But you might want to hide this one for yourself — it is stunning on toast, with or without lashings of butter.

Texture

This luscious honey has a pale, flaxen colour, matched by a smooth texture. Rātā honey will crystalise over time as it is raw, unpasteurised and unwhipped, just like nature intended.

Aroma

A beautifully scented honey, with light floral notes.

Location

Our Rātā honey is sourced from coastal locations on the rugged west coast of the South Island.

  2. Clemence L.

Sweet and soft… with a delicate taste… this is one of my favorite honeys.

  3. Stephanie L.

This is a great tasting honey with a very mellow flavour – a good “starter” honey for the person who may be uncertain about stronger flavours. It’s lovely on Vogels toast and has a good, mild perfume.
